Jay Z to play September 11 benefit concert at MSG

Hip hop star Jay Z is going to be putting on a benefit concert on September 11 in honor of the New York Police and Fire Fighters Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund, the charity set up to provide for the families of first responders injured or lost during the September 11 terrorists attacks. The Jay Z 9-11 concert is taking place at Madison Square Garden (MSG) on September 11. The Jay Z 9-11 ticket details have not been announced, however Citi card members be able to get presale tickets through the Private Pass(R) program.

"Madison Square Garden’s national music network Fuse and MSG Entertainment today announced that JAY-Z will play a benefit concert at Madison Square Garden, underwritten by ABSOLUT, JAY-Z and Live Nation, on September 11 at 9pm ET that will air exclusively in HD and commercial-free, live on Fuse," says the Answer the Call press release.

100 percent of the proceeds will go to charity. If you can't get your hands on Jay Z 9-11 concert tickets you can still enjoy the concert, as it will be shown commercial free on Fuse TV. The New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund has distributed more than $114 million to the families of New York City police and fire personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.

"This charity and concert encompass the true spirit of New York City," said Jay-Z. "We are asking everyone to 'Answer the Call' and support and honor the families of those that lost their lives in the line of duty. There is a true camaraderie and resiliency this city showed the world in 2001 and we continue that today by taking care of our own."
